Paintings about Maine

About Making Art
The scenery and seasons of coastal Maine - with its dynamic weather, tides, and habitat - are my inspiration. From daily walks, I gather ideas and details, sketches and photos. These become the starting point for my paintings. In my studio, I use the collected impressions plus memory and imagination to suggest the essence and significance of a particular time and place. I am learning to accept that there are going to be struggles and doubts, to welcome the challenge, and enjoy the journey of making art.
